How Do Heat Pumps Work?
Air source heat pumps are the low-carbon alternative that will heat your home as effectively as a gas boiler. Instead of using fossil fuels a heat pump uses energy from the air outside, even in temperatures as low as -10˚C, to provide heat and hot water to your home. It uses electricity to run the components of the heat pump and transfers the energy extracted from the air outside into a liquid which is heated and transferred into your homes heating and hot water system.
A heat pump is a powerful heating substitute that will heat your home more efficiently than a gas boiler. Although heat pumps consume electrical power, they produce more heat output than they consume in electricity input. They give you the comfort and convenience of a gas boiler but with fewer CO2 emissions resulting in being the latest renewable energy source technology.

If your installer doesn’t offer an ongoing service and maintenance plan, you can choose Midea’s Mi Care Service Plan to help keep your heat pump performing at its best.
Regular servicing helps maintain performance, optimise efficiency and maximise the lifespan of your heat pump. With Mi Care, you’ll receive expert support from Midea, with the option to extend your heat pump warranty for up to 10 years when enrolled on an eligible Mi Care service plan from just £29 per month.
As part of the plan, you’ll receive your first annual service visit free of charge, followed by a second free* annual service visit within the first three years of ownership. You’ll also have access to our dedicated Mi Care homeowner support line, where our expert team are on hand to help whenever you need them.
*2nd Annual service free when a homeowner signs up to a Mi Care service plan in year 3 (direct debit cost of £29 per month)
The complimentary service visits are only available when a Mi Care Service Plan is agreed at the time of installation and apply only to Midea heat pumps installed from October 2024 onwards. Other Mi Care Service Plans are available at an additional cost.

Our solution is a complete all-year round, integrated heating system which can replace, or work in synergy with traditional gas or oil boilers, maintaining continuous hot water supply up to 75˚C even with out door temperatures as low as -10˚C.

Our system is designed for installation in any type of property, especially homes with limited space. Our compact solution is a single unit that is installed on the outside of the property, taking up minimal space inside and can be used alongside an existing heating solution.
Easy, Smart Control
In-built smart controls and Mi Cloud software put you in total control whether you are in your armchair, at work, or on the way to the airport. The control with LCD screen can be used for multiple programming tasks, including the existing heating solution.
